The Key Reason Why Disguised Storage Is The More Suitable Home Security Option
Tuesday, February 21st, 2012I have rarely been a fan of wall safes hidden behind works of art. Almost everybody has them and not all make an effort to keep it a secret! I realize that they serve much more as status symbols than they do effective places to hide important things.
All of us have seen motion pictures that show these types of safes. Because everybody knows the possible hiding areas for them within a household, thieves would also know where to search for them.
Diversion safes are low cost and much better at concealing valuables than expensive wall safes. These are secure storage containers that can hold cash or jewelry and are disguised to look precisely like things found in the house.
They go unnoticed mainly because they look like cans of a car degreaser, 7up soda, fruit cocktail and similar. The only period you can tell that each is not what it looks is the moment you already know what it is.
Given the right hiding spot, however, thieves will never spend some time to look through these disguised safes mainly because they look so common. This is exactly what makes them much more effective compared to costly wall safes. No one will ever think that they store anything of value.
You can put diversion safes inside a cupboard, refrigerator or pantry. You can also keep them out in the open to appear like part of your home decorators.
In my own house, I have numerous disguised safes all over the place. I keep emergency cash, savings and other money within them. I keep jewelry in them, also.
Even though I keep my hiding safes out in the open, I have peace of mind mainly because no one can see past their disguises. Nobody will find exactly where I keep my stash of valuables, not even my very own family who comes to visit me often.
Discreet diversion safes hidden throughout your house are better than one huge, costly safe placed behind a painting. It may be out of sight however, if the hiding spot is well known, thieves know precisely where to look for your prized possessions.
